After releasing the sketch of 2016 Audi Q1 long time ago, Audi announced that they will meet production phase for this car recently. For your information, this SUV has same size with the Nissan Juke. This announcement can be the evidence for pre-buyers who cannot wait the Q1 will hit the dealer soon. In other words, the SUV that called as the brother of Q3 meets its completion now. They set a date somewhere in 2016 as the deadline for 2016 model years. It will take a year for Audi to complete their All-New Q5 and A5 as coupe class if they reached the deadline next year.
Although we have no official leaked photos of 2016 Audi Q1, we have bunches of camouflage photos that able to uncover the car obviously. All of them have the same patterns and characteristics which lead us into some statements of new Q1. For example, we can clearly imagine the front fascia of this wrapped Q1. There will be a new grille and of course freshen the previous Q1. We believe it is a 3D grille instead of common SUV grille. Moreover, the LED headlights could be sharpened from the rear view. You can see the circular form obviously. From sides, the profile is very tidier such as the 2015 A4.
The heart-breaking news claimed that the 2016 Audi Q1 won’t carry the A1 platform; meanwhile all of us predicted this platform before. The new Q1 will use MQB architecture from the Volkswagen group. This is beyond of our prediction, believe it or not. There is a special argument from the Audi CEO. He said that the target of new Audi Q1 will be more variants rather than before. He claims the target is young people and the dominant gender is women. It is based on the A1 sales until this year. Consequently, they want to change direction for male customers for the next Q1.
As the future customers, we expect the 2016 Audi Q1 will carry the same engine options for the A1. It means that we enjoy seeing the gasoline and diesel engines for the Q1’s lineup. Rumors said that the current 1.0 L three-cylinder engine which we view at the Volkswagen lineup has high-priority in the class. Meanwhile, the diesel engine could be the turn of new 1.4 L TDI to face the market scene. The higher power like 1.6 L TDI is also possible to complete the higher lineup. For the standard gearbox, the six-speed manual transmission is preferred.
